Naturopathic Medicine

What is Naturopathic Medicine?

Naturopathic medicine is a unique healthcare system that utilizes natural methods and substances to help the body heal itself. Such medicine helps promote wellness and achieve optimal health.

It is a science-based field that combines tradition, and modern science. It is based on the following philosophy:

  • First, do no harm

  • Identify and treat the cause

  • Treat the whole person

  • The healing power of nature

  • The physician as a teacher

  • Prevention

And the therapeutic order:

Some of the naturopathic therapy modalities include clinical nutrition, botanical medicine, homeopathy, physical medicine, holistic counseling and hydrotherapy.

Naturopathic doctors complete a 4-year, graduate-level program from an accredited school by the Council on Naturopathic Medical Education, an organization recognized for accreditation purposes by the U.S. Department of Education.
